The creation has reached the limit

Apparently we have a limit as to the number of books we can have in our Nook Wish List.  Which is fine -- I'd be more than happy to go delete some I have a feeling I'd never buy, but when I try to go to my Nook Wish list to do that I get a blank page with the words The creation has reached the limit at the top.

Have I just lost my wish list?

No there is no limit.  Everyone has received the same error message for about three weeks now.  Numerous people from B&N have claimed that fixing it is a top priority for them, but no evidence indicates that is actually the case.

          • Possible Work-Around

I also have been getting the "The creation has reached the limit." message but only when I try to access My Nook Book Wish List. My Wish List loads just fine. This morning I accidentally found a work-around to the problem.

I was adding an ebook to the My Nook Book Wish List and I had clicked the drop down menu and selected the "Add to My Nook Book WIsh List". The menu item changed to "Added to My NookBook Wish List" but instead of letting the drop-down menu retract, I clicked "Added to My Nook Book WIsh List" Immediately the My NOOK Book Wish List loaded in my browser! There were all my previously hidden Wish List items. If I click My Account, My WIsh List loads and if I click See My Other Wish Lists, and select My Nook Book Wish Lists, I still get "The creation has reached the limit" error message.

So, it appears that the work-around is to:

            1. Navigate to a Nook Book,
            2. Click "Add to List +" then select My Nook Book WIsh List.
            3. When the drop down menu item changes to "Added to My Nook Book WIsh List" click it.
            4. Your browser will (hopefully) load your otherwise hidden Wish List. (Of course, you can easily remove the Nook Book you just added, if you don't really want it.)

I hope this works for other people. It made me very happy!

Sorry that doesn't work for me.  All I have is the one book I added - and one I did not.

Thanks for the tip, and I did exactly that, but I only have 4 books show up on my wish list, down from my 70+ books.

Three comments/observations regarding this thread (and other similar ones).
I have the dreaded 'creation has reached the limit message' as well.  I got it two or three weeks back.  My wish list was fine, then I added a book, and then I lost access to my Nook wish list.

                  1.  Based on what the rep told me on the phone (who obviously was in over her head by the way) and what others are saying, the 'estimate' of when this will be fixed is simply pulled out of the air.  It seems to be no more than just adding 2 or 3 days from the date the person called and saying it 'should be fixed' by then.  I called on a Saturday and they told me it would be fixed by Tuesday.  That was a few weeks ago.  I'm a software developer myself, if you have no idea what the problem is, don't give customers a hard date you can't hit or you have no good reason to believe you can.  Simply tell them you're aware of the problem and you are working hard to find a solution and as of yet there is no timeframe.  Making promises when you don't even know the scope of the problem just leads to customer frustration.
                  2.  The 'workaround' pointed out in this thread I found on accident while playing around as well.  Problem is its not a workaround because of what others have said, it doesn't give you your wish list back.  It gives you only temporary access to part of your wish list.  In my case, it gives me only the item I added that started the whole problem plus anything I add after it.  So I have 3 books I think on my Nook wish list.  The other 80-100 or so I had before are still MIA.

                  3.  I have no idea since the communication from BN has been pretty lacking on this issue, particularly given how widespread it is, but I would think it might be in their interest to get this issue fixed.  As a prolific reader, my usual custom is to zoom through a book, then go peruse my wish list and buy another book or two.  I'll admit it, I've impulsed here and there late at night.  With no access to my wish list, I don't have access to the list of books I really want to read (and therefore I would PURCHASE).

Being a software engineer myself I'm well aware sometimes a bug pops up, and sometimes they are nasty to track down.  I've dealt with many over the years in my work.  I'm sympathetic to that.  What I'm not so sympathetic to is the lack of communication and impression I have that this isn't a very high priority.  Maybe they are working hard on it and it is a big issue internally, but there is nothing from my customer perspective that indicates that.

Where I'll take responsibility is I usually have redundancy and backup.  In this case, I did not completely - I was at the mercy of the BN wish list and its integrity.  I do have samples on my Nook of many of these books on my wish list so that gives me a bit of a reconstruction of the list at least,  Lesson learned I guess.

While I and many others wait around indefinitely, I'm doing the only thing I can do.  I'm simply not buying any more Nook books and I've put off my purchase of a Nook tablet (which I was about to buy) until the problem is resolved.  It's not because I'm mad, I'm just simply making the only statement I can of dispeasure until they fix the problem.

I have had this problem for about three weeks as well.  I have called twice and have been told that they are working on the problem and it will be fixed 'in a week'.  I just called back today and they said they are working on it.  When asked how long it would take they gave me no timeline.

This is very frustrating as I rely on my wish-list to keep track of everything.  It beats keeping a wish list in a note book.   Although, at this point I feel that would be a safer way to keep a list.

I have had other issues with B&N before and am frustrated and upset with the poor Customer Service.

I hope they fix this issue sooner rather than later.

I think these kind of problems undermine customer confidence in a company and I have been thinking at moments like these that I should have picked the Kindle.  My wish list on AMAZON is at 1,500 and going strong.

The only way I have found to have a Nook wish list is the Android app on my phone. I was not able to access my original list, but I can start and view a new Nook wish list. This is only on my phone.

Mine is functioning properly again; give yours a try.  (I say mine, because someone else has reported that his wishlist was lost altogether and he can't access it.)

A while back Alex posted that he would provide a list of the changes made in the latest update -

                          "soon".

Since then I've seen repeated requests for this in different threads but I have not seen the list.

I want to know if the browser freeze issue (also directly acknowledged as a "known" problem by Alex) was addressed.

My browser freezes too often for my liking - if B & N are fixing it - fine, but if they won't communicate I won't endorse their product. If they don't want word of mouth promotion then we're all happy.

I recommend Alex to make a summary of the pithiest and pertinent posts and to send it up the chain of command requesting comment. If this doesn't produce results -  go one grade higher and so on

btt It's happening again. I tried to create 2 new wishlists and instead I got a whole bunch of "My Wish Lists" all of which display this message. I can't even delete these random lists if I wanted to.

Any idea if this is the same as the previous times? Or if it's happening with other members or just me?
