Pulse and Seesmic apps are saving hundreds of files to my micro sd card??

      Well this is kinda weird...

Just installed a 4g Sansdisk micro sd card in my NC this afternoon.  All went well.  My Nook recognized the card and I formatted.  Later on I DL'd the free KJV Bible app from the app store.  DL went fine.  However I noticed there is a new permanent memory card icon in my notifications area that doesn't go away.  So I thought well maybe "reading" the contents of the card would clear the notification of the new card.  I didn't expect to find anything as I haven't placed anything on it yet - so boy was I surprised to find folders for Android with 59 Seesmic avatar files that I never put there, and which won't open!  As well there is a pulse news folder with 389 files that also will not open!  All say unsupported file formats.  Further the number of files is growing from when I first discovered them as pulse had 374 for instance and now has 389.

What is going on?  Are apps suppose to be able to save files to MY memory card?  Somehow this does not seem right...
