I recently bought a nook HD. Overall I am very happy with it. BUT, there's always a "but", it seems to move the books that I have been reading to the cloud without me telling it to. Sometimes I have to redownload a book multiple times in one day. (I have yet to contact customer support for this. I'm trying to make that my last resort.) I have checked in the settings to see if there was an option that was checked that I was unaware of, and there not. I have checked the manual and nothing of this caliber is mention. Neither is anything along these lines mentioned in the FAQ. My internet data is limited each month and therefore having to download the same, allbeit small, book(s) over and over takes its toll. Has anyone else encountered this?
That is definitely not how it's supposed to work. They usually stay in the cloud until you download them and then they stay on your device until you remove them yourself.
Are you running the latest update? Some of the previous updates were weirdly wonky and that MIGHT be causing this.
If that isn't the case, my first suggestion would be going to your nearest BN store if one is handy and asking for help. If that isn't an option, then call CS or try the online chat. But try the store first, they'll be more likely to actually be able to help and not frustrate you to death.
If you do have to make that call...you may want to go ahead and deregister and register BEFORE you call them so you'll have time to figure out if that solved your problem and not waste those minutes of your life on the phone doing it and then have to call back later when you figure out it didn't work. And tell them flat out you already did that and you aren't doing it again. Be nice, but firm.
Try to make it to a store...that is your best bet.
I have this exact same problem. It sends all my purchased books to the cloud after about 30 days of not opening one. So about once a month I have to redownload All of my books over a 2-3 day period. It drives me nuts.
