    can't charge my color nook

I just got the color nook and now the battery won't charge

After I bought a new USB cable, mine charges fine.

I think the USB cable in the NC box is wound into too small of a circle, cracking the cable inside the insulation.

Just wondering - did you buy the "non-standard" BN branded Nook Color charging cable....

as it is very different than a normal micro-USB cable used for other "standard" devices.

I REALLY hate to suggest this but you need to contact B&N customer support/service and, yes, like everyone else I know that it is, at best, a hit and miss proposition which is why if you can go to a brick & mortar store and speak to an actual human being in person it will go much better.

I haven't had any problems with my charger--and, just to make sure, you are charging it in an electrical socket, not on your computer, right (because it doesn't actually charge on the computer--one of the few things I don't like about the NC).  However, if you troll the boards around here for any length of time, you will find out that there are charging issues and most can be traced back to a faulty cord and, in just about every instance, B&N has replaced the cord for free.

              Good luck.
