    Password protect Individual shelf

Is there a way to password protect an Individual shelf on th NC?

I know I can PWD protect the device. I would like to be able to pwd protect an individual shelf. Both in the device as well as my online library.

Reason: I share the account with my daughter. Some of the content I have/want is not appropriate for her age.

I like sharing the acct cause we read alot of the same books and like to read and disscuss as we go.

If not a function at this time, might be a good add on for the future

I have been searching for information on this same issue.  I have a 10-year old son who shares my account and I would like to know if there is a feature that would allow me to limit his access to certain books on my account.

Work around for my problem: **proly on these boards somewhere. I'm to lazy to look  :smileytongue: **

I found that if I get content from a site other than B&N, smashwords.com for example, It goes into the My Files section under downloads. Only accessible from MY nook and not present on my B&N acct.

Cool thing is that you don't have to sideload with smashwords, just select epub download and its there. Kudos to the person that posted about smashwords

Mite even be a way to take content that DOES come from B&N and move it to this location. Does not seem like it will be a big issue because I am finding that anything on the B&N site I can find elsewhere. Although I would like to give B&N as much of my business as possible (keep the $$ flowing for future fixes and updates on my Nooks  :smileywink:

Not a lot I want to keep from my daughter but I do like that I have that option and wont have to consider sep accts.  :smileyhappy:

Just another request for the same thing...Family and friends LOVE to check out my nook and see if they'd like one for themselves.  I don't like feeling I have to guard it...I want to share the features with them...just not ALL my content ; )  A password protected shelf would indeed be the solution!

I agree.  I would also like a password on a shelf so I can have books I don't want my younger son to see.  I hope that add that feature soon.

Even if you password protect a shelf, if you change from viewing shelves, to no shelves, sorting by author, title, etc, the books are going to be there.  Shelves are not separate folders where you copy the file, they are simply tags on the book, which is why you can put a book on multiple shelves.  So password protecting a shelf only hides it as long as the device stays in shelves view.
