Does anyone know if BN plans on doing another software update?

Nobody is ever given a time they just happen. And wouldn't be surprised if they didn't have any more upgrades. They may but wouldn't be surprised if they didn't.

              .

They upgraded the Nook Color shortly after releasing the Nook Tablet v1, so it seems likely that they'll upgrade the Nook Tablet v1, at least, when they release the Nook Tablet v2.

They might phase out the Nook Color, in which case its up in the air whether the Nook Color gets another update.

Yep has always been a lottery kind of affair. Really sad a producer of the software feels no obligation to clue in the consumer of their product directions. Where firmware added features & Fixes may effect our daily use of their product. Have seen unannouced firmware upgrades wreck havoc on people's devices.

Gave up myself and rolled my own CM7 and have full control of when & what gets put on my device.

My take is "Nuke them from Orbit!...That's the Only Way to be Sure!" :smileytongue:

No need to install CM7 to get that kind of control, though. I've got a rooted stock system. Its set to not update OTA, but I have the script on my repair and recovery SD to turn on updating, if there is an update I want, and after all the rooting of the updated system has been sorted out.

Yep know about rooting device itself and OTA blocks but with Jelly Bean Ice Cream around the corner :smileytongue:

Just seems less hassle to run dual-boot from SD card. And runs just fine on everything I do on it. Or can create multiple different flavors with less amount of hassle.

Just saw this version 1.0 newly realeased Chameleon Launcher

Looks interesting but needs at least 3.2 android. But $10 bucks at google play think I'll pass as not compatible with my CM7 unless I upgrade my android OS.

                          .
