    Calendar/Planner

I'd really like to see a calendar / daily planner available for the Nook.  I'd want to be able to modify it - just to add basic appointments.  I have a paper planner, but it would be nice to only need to carry my Nook.

      Does anyone agree?

This has been discussed many times.  You'll find those that want it and others that are adamantly opposed to it.

I have no need for it and really don't want it on my Nook.  I have other devices that serve that purpose much better than the Nook ever would.  That said, I can ignore it if they do eventually add it.

But, before they do any of that, I want them to fix the bugs some people experience and make sure it functions outstandingly as eReader (its primary function) first, before they continue to add other bells and whistles to it.  My number one request is to provide user defined eBook organization.

Once they do that, if they want to add other features, I would like the ability to "opt out" or decide not to install calendars, games, etc if I don't want to.

I love my nook, but what is a pocketmod?

I found the cutest "mini journals" today at B&N from Jonathan Adler. They are just small empty books, but they are the perfect size to slip inside my green Tupper cover. No wire binding, just simple stitching, so no edge that will scrath my nook. Also, they are thinner than a standard journal, so it fits and doesn't cause a big bulge. They were $10 for 4 journals with different pattern covers..

This fits my need for some paper for notes, but still holds together and doesn't fall out of my cover.

"The PocketMod is a small book with guides on each page. These guides or templates, combined with a unique folding style, enable a normal piece of paper to become the ultimate note card. It is hard to describe just how incredibly useful the PocketMod is. It's best that you just dive in and create one."  From www.PocketMod.com

How about a cover that would hold a small calendar or notepad? For me, that would be perfect...I could jot down quick notes and then when I got home, could put them wherever they needed to be.

Well.... There is a browser on the Nook and therefore you could quite easily just use Google Calendar for that very purpose...

                      • Re: Calendar/Planner

I'll attest to Google Calendar.  I like having a notecard, pocketmod, or some other such thing for when I need to quickly add something to my schedule and don't have time to open the Nook web browser.  However, I use Google Calendar as my main calendar.

Is there a way to purchase a daily planner for the nook?  The only thing I can find is the inspirational and I am looking for more detail?

I'm not completely against it. It would be nice for those who need it and would have use for it. It would be great even for the super readers. It would make it easy to keep up with book releases, book signings, payment dates for eBooks, and what not without ever having to go online. I mean I'm sure BN wouldn't make it required to have on your NC, so there won't have to be any freak outs "because BN is crowding your NC". I have to say that if all you want is to have something where you can only just read I would look into the Kindle or something. The NC is more for people that love to read and have other things handy to just past the time. Remember the NC is really like a toy. Don't get overly upset about things messing up the people at BN are probably swamped with complaints. Just work with them to make your reading experience better. Thank you. :smileyhappy:

I use Cozi.com as my calendar.  I carry with me my datebook.  It would be nice to downsize, but another thing for me to update.  If it could replace my datebook, I am in.  I use Cozi as my calendar because they have a screensaver that has my day to day appointments.  I can look at the screensaver to see what I have tomorrow without getting online.

Yes, would love a calendar/planner that synched to google calendar or outlook or Windows Live (despite Microsoft patent trolling) for offline use. Have actually been considering moving to a playbook so it can synch with the blackberry. Bluetooth would be helpful too.
