No, you don't need to unregister the other nook. You can have up to 6 devices registered to your account.

I have both the nook classic and the nook color and regularly keep the same books synced on both units.

Just register the color nook, tap the Library icon, tap the books icon and then the sync button.

Do be aware that if you have a large library, it may not download all of the books to the nook color. It will, however, download at least all the covers. You may see several books with a green Download banner under them. There's nothing wrong.

When you want to read a book with the green download banner, just connect via wi-fi and download the book. The nook color syncs with your library whenever you connect to wi-fi. So you might see some books that didn't have the green banner before now do. I don't know why this is.

I've also noticed that when a publisher replaces a book file, usually do to some sort of correction, the book on my nook will suddenly have a green banner so I will download it again. This has only happened to books I haven't opened though.

          Happy reading

EDIT -- also, something else that others have pointed out as helpful is that after you register and the initial sync, power the nook color completely off and then turn it back on again.

As Desert mentioned, you can sync up to 6 devices (NOOKs, phones, computers, etc) to one account. The only reason I would suggest unregistering your classic NOOK would be if it will be going to someone you would not want to have the ability to purchase on your account. If it is going to stay in the family, you could always utilize the option to password protect for purchasing which would allow the NOOK to have the same titles as your current account however only offer purchasing power to the holder of the account password.

            Happy Reading!
