    Nook chamges video duration.

Got an Mp4 video that I want to play on my Nook but everytime I copy it from my computer to the Nook it changes the duration from 11:45 to 0:00 and won't play it. The file works fine on my PC and this doesn't happen to the other videos. Very fustrating.

Dont think you can just copy video files from your PC to your nook and have them work.  They need to be encoded and compressed first. (And assumes they arent protected by DRM.)

Do a search of the HD and NT forums for DVD Catalyst. He explains things pretty well.

I've got several movies on my wife's HD and NT. I copied them from non-DRMed DVDs and used handbrake to convert them to mp4 on my computer. Then I just copied them over to the device.

Yeah, I probably could have worded my reply a little better.... :smileyhappy:

You can copy them over from your pc to your nook, but first the mp4s need to be encoded properly.

Did forget about Handbrake; but dvd catalyst has done such a great job explaining what's what over the years, he's the first person I thought of.

There are numerous encoding formats for mp4.  It requires the basic mp4 format.  PCs work with all mp4 formats.  I use DVD Catalyst to encode it properly.  It also increases the volume and can put it in streaming format.  I have a home webserver and play it using Firefox.   I only sideload a movie if I want to watch it on the road.  BTW all Smart TVs, cellphones and media devices I have tried work with this format.
