Nook Color - Problem with typing in browser

I just recently downloaded the update for Nook Color and now typing on the keyboard is frustrating.  Multiple letters show when one letter is pressed.  If I press the letter "a" for instance, I may get "aaa"  or "aaux" - Searching on the browser is almost impossible.  Please help!

I have the same problem. My husband gave me a capacitive stylus to use on the keyboard. It solved the problem. If you search this forum for "stylus" you will find many suggestions and recommendations in previous threads.

I am not trying to be facetious here, but how long since you cleaned the screen? Whenever it starts to act up, it is past due for a cleaning.

This may be more frequent in times of higher humidity when your hands may be more damp and leave more residue.

Thank you so much for the info.  I do have a screen protector on my Nook Color which may or may not play a part in my dilema.  I will remove my screen protector, clean the Nook screen, and replace with another protector.

Do you think this will help?

Could another contributing factor for the multiple letters be attributed to the fact that my Nook was only half way charged?   This morning I tested the browser again to find that the letters were not being as spastic!  What do you think?

Thanks again for your time :smileyhappy:

I will admit I do not know if it will help. I don't have a screen protector, but I do know that a dirty screen can cause it to go haywire. I also do not know whether a low battery could do it, but think it is possible.

The keyboard is too small for my fat fingers. When I use my finger to hit one letter, I sometimes find the letter next to or above or below appears on the screen instead of or in addition to the selected key. Often the letter appears multiple times. It has nothing to do with a clean or dirty screen. It has everything to do with the size of the keys compared to the size of my fingers. Using a stylus eliminates this problem.

My problem is there is a blank white area across my web brower. I can see the web page above and below the white area but it covers up about 1/3 the viewing screen. It's like someone stuck a piece of print paper across half the screen. Has anybody else had this problem? I have the nook color model bnrv200 software version 1.2.0 Is there a way to remove and reinstall the web browser?

Have you tried clearing your cache and cookies and closing all extra open windows? Have you done a complete shutdown and restart lately? Try both of those and then try your web site again. If this is only happening on one website - then your problem would be there.

Someone else posted with this issue last week.  A reboot fixed it (hold down the power button until it shuts off--ignoring the pop up window--and then turn it on again).

Thank you so much for the info.  I jotted down the name of the stylus you suggested.  Would I find this at most electronics stores?  I have a Radio Shack nearby and Frys is not too far either.

                            Thanks again:smileyhappy:
