    New Yorker Subscription Bump

      Hi,

I just got a message that the new yorker was going up from 3.99 to 5.99 per month. That makes it about $72/year. You can get a paper subscription for about $40 and the electronic one comes along free. Anyone know what gives? Is it possible to get the free subscription on the nook? They are now charging too much to justify being "green" and not needing the paper copy.

        Cheers,

          Gordon.

I am a paper subscriber to Wired Magazine, also a Conde Nast publication. Through that subscription, I received a code that I applied to my NOOK subscription to get it for free. I assume New Yorker works the same way.

Gordon, I don't do the New Yorker but with the Los Angeles Times and Time Magazine, my print edition allows me to login to the LAT web site and download the digital version (pdf format) using any web browser.  I would actually have to pay B&N to do the same thing from B&N.  Maybe someone with experience can let us know if this is available for the New Yorker.

If you go to the New Yorker page on the BN Site, is has instructions  on how to get the digital edition free if you have a print subscription.

A lot of digital subscriptions are more than the print subscription.  Runnerwow old is $15 for a print subscription, $20 for a digital subscription.  It's $20 for a digitalsubscription on my iPad also.  I don't think a lot of the publishing world is really caught up on the whole digital thing.
