I haven't tried Chrome. however, I know that some people get the mobile sites to work i.e.
m.gmail.com instead of gmail.com. etc.
So the reason it crashes if you sign in is because Chrome uses the Google Framework built into most android devices. It's not present on the nook. You can sideload this as well, if you feel like rooting your device. I did it, and it works great. I have access to the play store, gmail, chrome, and other stuff. @ewilson1114 - I haven't gotten ADB to work. I'd appreciate learning how you did it.
