Wow. first time I've seen my name in a Subject title. Thought I was in big trouble for a minute there.
So this evening I went to my BN store. I approached the NC "expert" standing at the Nook counter. I asked her if she was able to take care of my memory issue for my apps. She said yes.
I asked her how many she has done, since the Market has opened. And she said NONE.
She opened a drawer and pulled out a little box with the SD card and instructions. The SD card was still wrapped in cellophane.
She told me that she really does nothing....the SD card does all of the formatting.
That's correct. All she will do is make sure your NC is fully off, insert the card, and turn it on. Not much for her to get wrong.
She said that the NC's that were released after the Market opened are already formatted with more space. Since I purchased mine on day one in Nov. (I think) I will need to continue to archive old apps if I don't have this done.
She told me that nothing visibly will change the only thing I will have to reload are my pics, and she suggested that I put them on my SD card.
Well, that's an oversimplification, but I think we've been through all the rest of it enough elsewhere that you have a pretty good idea what you're getting yourself into.
What say you....should I do it?
From what you've said, it sounds to me like you're in for a lifetime of aggravation, Archiving things in and out, if you DON'T make the switchover. You already are informed about the downsides, and the fact you're asking indicates you're OK with them.
p.s. I also asked what if something went wrong...she said she would do a factory reset.....yikes
I wouldn't worry about that. Your NC will go through a Factory Reset as part of the transition anyway. If she has to do one more, no big deal.
