    Waterproofing the N2E

    keriflur

I'm getting a paddleboard and am thinking I might want to bring my N2E along sometimes (depending on where we're going).  Does anyone have any recommendations on waterproof cases?  I'd need something that could be attached to a floatation device (since I'm not talking about the pool or the bathtub - Puget Sound is deep, LOL).

I'm considering this one http://www.swimoutlet.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=28594 but would love a cheaper option.

      Thanks in advance.  :smileyhappy:

Are you putting it in to store it or to use it?  I don't think the NST likes operating while in a bag.

Try putting it in a zip-lock bag just to test.  I think you'll find that it freaks out because it thinks the bag is lots of little fingers trying to touch the screen at once.

LOL at the mental image of this!

I will give that a try.  I *think* the bag I found above gets around this issue somehow, possibly with suction to the screen?  I dunno.  It claims to allow fully funtional use of the touchscreen, and mentions kindle, but they could mean that you can use capacative touch screens and non-touch kindles.

Maybe I'll need to take the N1E with me on the board.  I was hoping to be able to use it in the bag if I wanted to.

There are certainly cheaper options! I wouldn't conisider any of these "water proof" so much as "water resistant".

I don't know what you are planning on doing to your poor Nook, but I hope it won't be as drastic as what this guy did to his iPad!:smileysurprised:

Try WWW.TRENDYDIGITAL.COM. I have purchased watertight covers from them for both of our Simple Touches. We;ve taken them to the beachs on Isla Mujeres, Mexico, several times and they work just great. They seal up tightly and keep out all the dust, sand and water.
