Will there ever be a new version of HD+?

    artseattle

I actually like the HD+, especially for magazine reading.  Will B & N ever come out with a new model?  This one is really old now and needs to be much lighter, better resolution, and have a faster processor.  I've resisted switching to another "ecosystem" but...

      Any news?

The above is a joke, right??  Better resolution??  It's already higher than most of the tablets out there.  Too old??  Do you buy a new car every year??

I'm very reluctant to label messages as trolls, but this seems to be one.

Dean, I'm surprised by your response.  As a very loyal Barnes and Noble customer I would like to see their products stay current and be supported.  Have you compared the Nook HD+ with the HDX or mini?  They do cost much more but for someone who is willing to pay for quality for a product I use daily, I want to see the HD+ upgraded.  I'm having difficultly convincing new e-book readers to try the Barnes and Noble brand if the product looks like it is heading for the sunset.

BTW, I've owed 4 Nook products and have given away at least 4 to others,

Why do you think that we know more than you do about B&N's future plans? LOL. Nobody knows but B&N! Will they ever come out with a new model? I don't know!

The HD+ is only "really old" if you're talking the lifespan of fruit flies. I'm using my HD+ and I wasn't aware it needed to be anything except what I bought it for.

I really wonder about the maturity of the people who get unhappy that B&N doesn't immediately come out with something identical or better than Amazon or Apple and then suggest that they will move to another ecosystem over it. Will you ever be happy with anything, ever? After all, somebody will come out with a better car, a better fridge, a better shoe, on and on.

I'm not sure the OP deserves the vituperative responses he/she has gotten. Troll? Look at the date they registered. Immature? Just asking a question, granted in the wrong venue, but just asking. As for the "other environment" that is a common enough implication, much less statement.

I have a N1E, NT, HD, and HD+. Love them all, still use all but the N1E, and don't care if there is an updated tablet unless and until these become doorstops. That said, I too wonder if B&N will continue to carry the tablet ball or pass it on to some other vender. Doesn't make me an immature troll.
