I don't know why. It was a problem with my Nook 1st Edition and it's worse with the Nook HD. I've had mine for almost two years and was only able to access the wishlist for the first six months. For the next six months, I could get it to pull up sometimes by going to the Shop settings and clearing the search and recently viewed items. I haven't been able to get to it in about a year now. At least with the Nook 1st Edition, the wishlist was stored on the Barnes and Noble server and I could get to it by going into my account. The Nook HD stores the wishlist on the device. If you have more than one device, you'll have more than one wishlist.
You'd think that 5 years into the product line, they'd figure out how to make the wishlist work consistently. It seems like it would be a no-brainer for improving sales.

unfortunately, the wishlist on the device is a separate list than what is on your bn.com account on your computer.
I no longer use the wishlist on my device as it does not disappear off the bn.com list once purchased and vice versa.
