Yeah, I've pretty much left B&N behind. Other than Free Friday selections (which are few and far between) I've been utilizing other vendors that allow me to back up my eLibrary with a minimum of fuss.
I've pretty well given up on B&N as well. If I didn't have a couple of devices with "recovery" options, I wouldn't even consider purchasing ebooks from them at this point. It's a shame, really.
It's also super annoying that if you DO get a book that can be read in nook for web, they make you re-sign-in every X number of minutes, and when you sign in (or at least for me), you have to sign in twice before it recognizes that you signed back in and lets you read again.
This is even more annoying if you're reading while doing other things - I might only get half a chapter before the darn thing kicks me out again.
I have a technical book (for work) open in the kindle app - it's been there for weeks. The app just logs me in automatically each morning when I boot up the machine, and when I need to refer to it, it's there for me. This would NEVER work on nook for web.
Google Play doesn't kick me out either.
